Willie Oxendine, 18-Year-old Resident of Marion Succumbed to Gunshot Wound After Being Shot in Marion, Indiana
On December 14, 2023, a shocking incident unfolded in Marion, Indiana. At approximately 10:05 PM, a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound arrived at Marion Health in a private vehicle. The situation came to light when a Grant County Sheriff Deputy, who happened to be leaving the hospital, alerted other officers about the distressing turn of events.
The victim was identified as Willie Oxendine, an 18-year-old resident of Marion. Oxendine had sustained a single gunshot wound to the abdomen and was immediately rushed into the emergency room for urgent medical attention. However, the severity of his injuries necessitated his transfer to Lutheran Hospital in Ft. Wayne, Indiana, via life-line transport.
Tragically, despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Oxendine’s condition deteriorated, and he succumbed to his wounds. Marion Police received the news of Oxendine’s passing. It was later revealed that the incident took place at 3104 S. Washington St. Apt. 1 in Marion.
As the investigation unfolded, a search warrant was promptly executed at the aforementioned location, resulting in the collection of crucial evidence.
