Virginia Christine Vinton Waxhaw NC Suicide: Chicago Airport Death, Woman found dead at O’Hare luggage area

Virginia Vinton Waxhaw NC O’Hare Airport Death – The medical examiner has identified the woman who passed away at O’Hare Airport on Thursday morning and determined that her death was a suicide.

Around 7:45 a.m. on Thursday, the Chicago Fire Department was dispatched to O’Hare in response to reports of a woman who was “pinned in machinery” at the Terminal 5 luggage area. By nine in the morning, Chopper 7 was above the site.

According to CFD, the woman became stuck in the baggage conveyer belt system. At the scene, she was pronounced deceased. Virginia Christine Vinton, 57, of Waxhaw, North Carolina, has been identified as the woman, a Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office representative stated on Friday.

The death has been ruled a suicide, according to the Cook Count Medical Examiner’s statement on Friday afternoon. The means of demise were suffocation and hanging.

Around 2:30 a.m., according to Chicago police, Vinton—who was not employed at the airport—was spotted on camera entering a restricted area that was empty. After hours, her body was discovered. Vinton was reportedly at the airport over night, according to police, but it’s still unclear why she broke into the employees-only area.

The location of the event, according to the authorities, is only accessible by employees and, although secure, is not regarded as a high security sector. It is crammed with conveyor belts that transport bags from the international terminal to the aircraft, where they are inspected by customs.

Whether or not the police were able to follow Vinton’s movements between 2:30 and 7:30 in the morning is unknown. Investigations regarding Vinton’s death are ongoing. Dial or text 988 if you or a loved one is experiencing a mental health crisis or is thinking about taking their own life.
