Tony Voce Death – Former Philadelphia Phantom and Boston College player passed away Tony Voce has sadly passed away. He died on Monday 8th July 2024 at the age of 43. He was confirmed dead through a post shared on social media that reads:
“Sad to learn that Tony Voce, former Philadelphia Phantom and Boston College player has passed away at age 43 Voce was born in Philly and was a friend of @larryfknflowers Rest in Peace Tony.”

Voce played college hockey at Boston College, where he enjoyed a highly successful collegiate career. Over his four years with the Eagles, he recorded an impressive 90 goals and 77 assists, along with 207 penalty minutes.
As a senior, Voce finished second in the nation in goals in the NCAA and, for the second time in his college career (the first being as a sophomore), was awarded the Norman F. Bailey Award as the team’s Most Valuable Player (MVP).
His outstanding performance also earned him a place on the All-Hockey East First Team, and he was recognized as an AHCA First Team All-American. After completing his college career, Voce was signed as an undrafted free agent by his hometown team, the Philadelphia Flyers.
He was assigned to their minor league affiliate, the Philadelphia Phantoms, where he quickly became one of the team’s top goal-scorers. Voce was an integral part of the 2004–05 Calder Cup-winning Philadelphia Phantoms team, contributing significantly to their success. During his time with the Phantoms, he amassed a total of 50 goals over two years before being loaned to the Grand Rapids Griffins.

Voce’s professional career also saw him making a move overseas. On March 17, 2008, he signed with the Straubing Tigers of the Deutsche Eishockey Liga (DEL), Germany’s top professional league. Later that year, on November 28, 2008, Voce transferred to EC Graz 99ers of the Erste Bank Hockey League (EBHL) in Austria. However, his stint with the Austrian team was short-lived; after just two weeks, he was released by the EC Graz 99ers.
Throughout his career, Voce demonstrated his skill and versatility on the ice, both in North America and Europe. His achievements at Boston College and his contributions to the Philadelphia Phantoms highlight his significant impact on the teams he played for, leaving a lasting impression in the hockey community.
