Tanya Wiebe and Kyle Savage Death Update:- More than three months after a woman and her boyfriend were found dead inside a rural home near Sparta, provincial police have confirmed it was a murder-suicide. The bodies of 38-year-old Tanya Wiebe and 34-year-old Kyle Savage were found inside Savage’s Roberts Line home just after 8 a.m. on January 31.
Autopsies conducted in the days following their deaths confirmed both died from gunshot wounds, police disclosed on Wednesday. While the deaths were widely suspected to have been the result of a murder-suicide, police had not confirmed it until now.
“The investigation revealed that the female’s death was the result of a homicide,” police said in a statement. Wiebe, who had a teenage son from a previous relationship, was remembered as a dedicated mother.
“[Her son] was her number one priority in life and she was dedicated to anything he wanted to pursue,” Linda Wiebe said during a eulogy at her sister’s funeral in February. “We may feel angry, we may feel confused, but what happened to her is not Tanya’s story. My sister was by far much more than this and I want us to all remember her for who she was.”
