Steven Harris Death, Missing former SU student found dead in Wilkinson County, 3 suspects arrested for homicide

Steven Harris Death – The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office has apprehended three individuals in connection with the homicide of a former Southern University student.

Derek Terrell Hollins Jr., 21, Calajia Jack, 20, and Allyah Martin, 21, all from the St. Francisville area, face first-degree murder charges in Wilkinson County, Mississippi, where the victim’s body was found. The trio also faces conspiracy to commit first-degree murder in West Feliciana Parish.

Additionally, Hollins is charged with possession of a machine gun. Authorities confirmed that Martin and the victim, Steven Harris IV, shared a child and were scheduled to appear in court for a custody hearing on July 18th. When Harris failed to appear, his family reported him missing.

Steven Harris IV was reported missing by his family on Wednesday, July 17th. Tragically, his body was discovered just six days later in Wilkinson County, Mississippi. According to the Wilkinson County coroner, Harris died from multiple gunshot wounds.

Law enforcement believes the three suspects worked together to entice Harris to a specific location. They further allege that a handgun equipped with a full-auto switch was used to commit the crime.

“Through our investigation, we developed strong evidence that DJ Hollins, Calajia Jack and Allyah Martin conspired to lure Steven Harris from West Feliciana Parish to Mississippi where he was shot and killed. We believe DJ Hollins used a Glock handgun with a switch that made it capable of firing in full auto mode to kill Mr. Harris, “said Spillman.

“We’re aware that Mississippi authorities are pursuing charges in this case, however, we believe the plan to commit this crime was hatched here; and the initial phases leading up to Steven’s death began here in West Feliciana Parish. In consultation with the District Attorney, our investigators submitted affidavits for these charges and warrants were signed here today.” “We will continue to work with Mississippi authorities to present a case that will ensure justice is served for the death of Steven Harris.”

The West Feliciana Parish Sheriff’s Office has set bonds for the three individuals charged in connection with the murder of Steven Harris IV. Derek Terrell Hollins Jr. has a $450,000 bond, while Calajia Jack and Allyah Martin have bonds of $365,000 and $350,000, respectively.

The trio is currently incarcerated at the West Feliciana Parish Jail pending extradition to Mississippi, where they will face first-degree murder charges.

Sheriff Spillman emphasized that the investigation is ongoing and urged anyone with relevant information to contact the Wilkinson County Sheriff’s Office. Southern University and its renowned Human Jukebox have expressed their deepest sympathies to the Harris family during this difficult time.
