Stacey Sutphin Boone County Accident, Woman died in UTV crash on Monday in Indiana

Stacey Sutphin Boone County Accident – A tragic two-vehicle crash claimed the life of 61-year-old Stacey Sutphin on Monday morning in Boone County, Indiana.

The Boone County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) responded to the scene at approximately 10:30 a.m. after multiple reports of a serious accident on County Road 300 South near 8800 West.

According to preliminary information, Sutphin was driving a Utility Terrain Vehicle (UTV) westbound on the rural road when the crash occurred. BCSO investigators revealed that as Sutphin attempted to turn into a local farm, a pickup truck behind her tried to pass the UTV. In a devastating moment, the truck collided with the UTV as it was making its turn.

Emergency responders transported Sutphin to a nearby hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The driver of the pickup truck, who has not been identified, was uninjured and remained at the scene to cooperate with law enforcement.

The Boone County Fatal Alcohol Crash Team (FACT) assisted with the investigation, although it has not been confirmed whether alcohol was a factor. The incident remains under active investigation, as officials work to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash.

This tragic accident is a stark reminder of the risks on rural roads, particularly involving slower-moving vehicles like UTVs. The community of Jamestown, where Sutphin lived, is mourning the sudden loss of a beloved member, while authorities urge drivers to exercise caution when sharing the road with agricultural and utility vehicles.

More details are expected to emerge as the investigation continues.
