Miah Mansfield and Jackson Mansfield Death – A tragic single-vehicle rollover crash occurred on Highway 161 near Springfield, Tennessee, on Friday evening, resulting in the deaths of two young children.
The incident took place just after 7 p.m. in the 4700 block of Highway 161.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old Lukas Mansfield, was operating a 2022 RAM 1500 pickup truck westbound when the vehicle veered off the roadway, struck a culvert, became airborne, and collided with a utility pole.
Tragically, two children, 7-year-old Miah Mansfield and her 4-year-old brother, Jackson Mansfield, who were passengers in the vehicle, sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene.
Mansfield, who was uninjured in the crash, was arrested at the scene. He faces two counts of aggravated vehicular homicide and one count of driving under the influence (third offense). His bond was set at $10,000 for the DUI charge, with no bond set for the homicide charges.
Both children were students at South Haven Christian School in Springfield. The school released a statement expressing profound sadness and extending prayers for the family during this incredibly difficult time.
