Spalding County Courthouse Shooting —Tragedy struck near the Spalding County Courthouse on Friday morning when a fatal shooting left a local woman dead and another individual injured.
Authorities have identified the victim as Marjorie Krystal Evans Mallory, a resident of Griffin, GA. The shooter has been named as her husband, Tom Mallory.
According to Richard Powell, public information officer for the Griffin Police Department (GPD), the incident occurred on South Sixth Street, in close proximity to the courthouse. As law enforcement worked to investigate the scene, a portion of the street was temporarily blocked to traffic.
The details surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, but authorities confirmed that Krystal Evans Mallory was fatally shot during the altercation. Another individual, whose identity has not been released, sustained injuries and is currently receiving treatment.
