Smyth County VA Shooting: Police in search of suspect who shot an officer.
Searching for a suspect in the shooting of Smyth County Sheriff’s deputies near the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries on Highway 16, State Police were at a residence.
A neighbor reported seeing a black man with a stick or a rifle in her yard. When she went up against him, the man did not stop. It has been claimed that he was making his way towards a brook that passes between our backyard and her land.

Officers are responding to a reported shooting at Citadel Mall in West Ashley.
