Shooting in Hagerstown MD Today – Police in Hagerstown were looking into a shooting that happened on Thursday afternoon.

Following reports of a shooting in the 200 block of East Washington St., the Hagerstown Police Department (HPD) confirmed that officers responded to the scene shortly before 1:00 p.m.

The reason behind the shooting and the identities of those involved have not been disclosed by HPD. While police investigate the gunshot, several nearby streets have been closed and locals are encouraged to stay away from the city center.

The two New Hampshire residents who perished on Thursday morning were discovered lying in a field close to their overturned motorcycle in Lebanon. Early on Thursday morning, their motorcycle was discovered crashed in an open field in Lebanon, killing one resident of New Hampshire and injuring another.

At around 5:20 on Thursday morning, according to York County Sheriff William King, a homeowner of Lebanon’s River Road discovered the wrecked motorcycle and two people laying in a field.

After the resident called the police, they identified the passenger as 26-year-old Rhiannon Cooper-Boisvert of Milton, New Hampshire, and the driver as 32-year-old Joseph Vachon of Rochester, New Hampshire. Vachon was pronounced deceased on the spot. According to King, Cooper-Boisvert was taken to Portsmouth Regional Hospital in New Hampshire.
