Sarah McAllister Car Accident – A tragic two-vehicle crash in Dutchess County has claimed the life of an 18-year-old woman, according to authorities.
The fatal accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 27, on Clove Road, near the West Clove Mountain Road intersection, in the town of Union Vale, the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office reported.
Investigators determined that Sarah McAllister, 18, of Dover, was driving northbound in a white 2004 Nissan sedan when she lost control on a sharp curve. Her vehicle crossed into the southbound lane, where it was struck by a black Ford Ranger traveling in the opposite direction.
Emergency crews worked to extricate McAllister from her vehicle before both drivers were transported to the hospital. Tragically, McAllister later succumbed to her injuries at Mid-Hudson Regional Hospital. The driver of the Ford Ranger survived and was treated for injuries.
Authorities believe that excessive speed, wet road conditions, and aggressive driving may have been contributing factors in the crash.
