Ronald Ray Hudson Energy IL Death – Ronald Ray Hudson, 86, of Energy, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 15, 2024.

Hudson, who was well-known for his role as the Director of Finance at Olin / General Dynamics in Marion, was deeply involved in his community. He was a founding member of the Southern Illinois National Hunting & Fishing Days and served as the past president of the organization.

Hudson was remembered fondly by many, as tributes poured in following the news of his passing. “Ron was a very nice man. Sorry for the family’s loss,” wrote Jerrie McHargue Barnett.

Others echoed these sentiments, with Joey Helleny sharing, “Sorry to hear,” and Lynn Stevens-Steh adding, “So sorry to hear this. Such a nice man. Condolences to the family.”

Ron Hudson’s legacy includes not only his contributions to the financial sector but also his dedication to community events that celebrated the natural beauty of Southern Illinois. He leaves behind a family, friends, and community members who will miss his kindness and leadership.

Survived and Preceded by
Ron is also survived by his sons and daughters-in-Law, Scott & Mary Kay Hudson of Herrin, IL and Michael & Heather Hudson of Creal Springs, IL; seven grandchildren, Lindsay & Ryne Sanders, Ryan Hudson, Kyle & Jessica Hudson, Mycah & Kory Faulkner, Reagan & Brayden Bisaillon, Jake & Callie Hartline, and Reice Hartline; eleven great grandchildren, Colton Sanders, Ellie Sanders, Jaxon Hudson, Lyla Hudson, Hayden Hudson, Braxton Hudson, Ryden Hudson, Graham Faulkner, Grace Faulkner, Brooks Bisaillon, and Brody Bisaillon; sister, Violet Lindsey of Orlando, FL; former daughter-in-law, Jory Murphy; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Ralph Hudson.

Funeral and Burial Arrangements
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 19, 2024 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Josh Wehrmeier officiating. Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 18, 2024 at the funeral home. Interment will be at Egyptian Memorial Gardens in Energy, IL. Memorial donations may be made to Second Baptist Church, 900 South 11th Street, Herrin, IL 62948; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
