Ron Ames, a former Ames Construction Regional President in Burnsville, Minnesota, has sadly passed away. He was announced dead by J.D. Kraemer Enterprises in a social media publication that reads:
“Our hearts go out to all family and crews of Ames Construction. Ron Ames will be greatly missed by all.” The circumstances surrounding Ron Ames cause of death have not been made public by the family at the time of this report.
Who was Ron Ames?
Ron Ames was a former Regional President at Ames Construction in Burnsville, Minnesota. Executive Vice Presidents Justin Gabrielson, Jerry Miller, and Tim Odell were appointed president of the Midwest, Southwest, and Western regions.
Respectively, and Ames Construction Regional Presidents Ron, John Ames, and Mark Brennan stepped aside. As proprietors and members of the Ames Board of Directors, Ron Ames, John Ames, and Mark Brennan all remain in their positions.
Following ten years of apprenticeship under his mentor, Verdie Volden, of V. J. Volden Highway Construction Company, Dick Ames ventured out on his own, purchasing a 1953 Cat D8.
At the time that Ames Construction was founded, townships were starting to turn into cities, government programs were helping farmers save soil, and funds were becoming available to support the development of the country’s roadway infrastructure.
The Ames family members joined the business one by one and persisted in looking for work to keep the little business afloat. Their relationships with businesspeople and community leaders started to pay off by the middle of the 1960s.
