He was announced dead through social media publication this past weekend. Richard Morecombe of Chelsea, London died unexpectedly, according to reports. No cause of death has been reported.
Richard is a seasoned entrepreneur and investor with over 35 years of experience in the UK financial sector. He founded Northern Lithium in 2017, where he remains the largest shareholder and Chairman.
Richard has a background in Mid and Small Cap UK broking, having co-founded and led Whitman Howard until its acquisition by Panmure Gordon in 2020, where he is now President and Head of Equities.
He also founded Whitman Asset Management and was a key figure at Numis, contributing to its growth from £10m to £400m in market cap. Additionally, Richard is the Founder and President of Chelsea Thoroughbreds and has a long-standing passion for horse racing, having owned horses and been involved in over 200 winners.
His extensive network and expertise in horse racing and financial sectors underpin his success in both fields. Northern Lithium, founded in 2017 by Richard Morecombe, has recently completed a successful 30-day pumping test at a site in northeast England, surpassing expectations.
The company, where Morecombe is now an executive director at Panmure Liberum, aims to raise £6 million from high net worth and retail investors to fund upcoming tests. Northern Lithium is targeting commercial production by 2027.
