Richard Hendrickson Ogden Death – The identities of the two victims killed in Saturday’s deadly crash in Ogden Canyon have now been released. One of the victims was a CEO of a Clearfield-based sporting goods company.
Richard David Hendrickson, and his daughter Sally have been identified as the two people killed in an Ogden Canyon crash that occurred Saturday.
Representatives of Lifetime Products, a basketball equipment manufacturing company headquartered in Clearfield, made the announcement shortly after the incident transpired on July 6.
The news release added that Richard’s wife and his two other children sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Their fourth child was reportedly traveling overseas at the time of the incident and was not involved.
Richard and Sally were killed Saturday when an eastbound tow truck hauling heavy equipment took a sharp bend as it was passing the Hendrickson’s SUV. The equipment was ejected from the tow truck and was thrown into the Hendrickson’s vehicle.
Members of the company shared that Richard was not only a cardinal leader but also a Stake President for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Ogden Utah Pleasant Valley Stake. ”He loved serving the people in that area and will also be deeply missed there,” the release read in part.
Richard’s caring focus on the people he worked with, both within the company and among vendors and suppliers, was emphasized.
“He was truly special in his ability to respectfully engage others, regardless of their position or level within the supply chain. His ability to connect with people bound all of his other talents together in a very special way.”
Members of the company called Richard a visionary, a friend to those within the company and in the community, a legendary mechanic, and a master in finance, management, and sales.
“During this time of mourning, our thoughts and prayers are with Richard’s family and his many, many friends,” Lifetime representatives stated. “Details regarding memorial services will be shared once they are available. In honoring Richard’s legacy, Lifetime remains steadfast in upholding the values and commitment he exemplified during his over 36-year career.”
