Rebecca Stauffer Obituary, Death – An individual who was struck by a vehicle on North Dirksen Parkway in Springfield on April 7 has been identified by Jim Allmon, the coroner for Sangamon County.
The pedestrian was 33 years old. According to the early findings of the autopsy, Rebecca Stauffer, who was from Greenview, passed away as a result of multiple blunt force injuries that she sustained in the accident, authorities said in a statement release.
What happened to Rebecca Stauffer?
A little after 9:30 o’clock on Sunday evening, Stauffer was struck by a vehicle next to a railroad overpass that is located in the 3900 block of North Dirksen Parkway. The death of Stauffer was confirmed by medical personnel at the scene, as stated by Allmon.
A caller to 911 reported that Stauffer was lying in the lane and was not breathing, as indicated in a statement issued by the Sheriff of Sangamon County, Jack Campbell.
It was reported to sheriff’s officers by the driver of a Hyundai Santa Fe traveling northbound on Dirksen Parkway that she believed she had collided with a shopping cart that was lying in the road.

After coming to a stop and getting out of her vehicle, the motorist found Stauffer waiting for her in the road. Deputies spoke with the driver as well as other individuals who witnessed the collision.
At this time, there have been no charges brought forward. The death of Rebecca Aileen Stauffer, who resided in Greenview and was 33 years old, occurred on Sunday, April 7, 2024. She is the daughter of Don Stauffer and Nancy (Hall) Stauffer, and she was born on July 4, 1990 in Springfield, Illinois.

Rebecca’s favorite thing to do was to work in the yard, particularly with flowers. In addition to that, she enjoyed going mushroom hunting and fishing with her sons.
