Two suspects, including a 16-year-old, have been charged with murder following a tragic shooting that claimed the life of an 80-year-old woman as she slept, according to Mississippi police reports.
The 16-year-old and 20-year-old Ramon Thompson were apprehended on Wednesday, April 3, in connection with the fatal drive-by shooting in Jackson, as detailed by WJTV, which cited information from Jackson Police Detective Tommie Brown.
Both individuals are facing charges of murder and drive-by shooting, as reported by WAPT.

The incident occurred on April 1 when Annie Peoples, 80, and her family were asleep in the front room of their residence, as recounted by The Clarion-Ledger, citing police sources. According to investigators, three individuals arrived in a dark-colored vehicle, disembarked, and unleashed gunfire.
Tragically, one of the bullets struck Peoples in the head, resulting in her death, authorities informed The Clarion-Ledger.
Police indicated that the assailants likely targeted someone else, as reported by WAPT. Thankfully, no additional injuries were reported.
Both suspects appeared before a judge and were each assigned a bond of $1.5 million, as outlined by the station.
