Phoenix Car Accident Today – One person is dead, and another is fighting for their life after a crash caused a vehicle to erupt in flames early Friday morning.
According to Phoenix police, the collision happened near 35th and Sweetwater avenues around 6 a.m. When police arrived, they found a car on fire after it crashed into a large pole.
A woman was standing outside the vehicle, and she was rushed to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. However, investigators say once the flames were put out, a passenger was found inside the burnt-out vehicle.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities say 35th Avenue south of Sweetwater is closed down while the investigation is ongoing.

A driver is dead following a rollover crash in Beloit Friday morning. Beloit Police said the crash occurred in 1200 block of Risher Street at 2:30 a.m. where the driver crashed into a tree in the area.
The City of Beloit is not releasing the identity of the driver at this time. Wisconsin State Patrol is providing accident reconstruction for the investigation.
