Patrick Byrne Death Lakeshore CA:- Ward 2 councillor Patrick ‘Paddy’ Byrne passed away peacefully, surrounded by family and loved ones, on July 25th, 2024.
He was announced dead by those affected by his passing. Councillor Byrne died at the age of 71. He also volunteered as a soccer referee and for the Knights of Columbus. No cause of death was reported.

“We are deeply sad to have lost such an incredible community builder, colleague and friend in Councillor Paddy Byrne. As is pointed out below, there is no shortage of contributions that he has made to our communities over the years, whether through his work, his volunteering, his coaching, or his participation in a variety of committees and organizations.
His love of community and overall enthusiasm and eagerness to take part set him apart from so many. I send my condolences to his friends, family, and all those that have been touched by his work and grieve this incredible loss.”
Councillor Byrne’s commitment to public service and community development has been unwavering throughout his 12 years on Council. His tenure began with a significant role in the amalgamation transition of 1997, a pivotal moment that shaped the future of the region.
Byrne’s dedication was evident in his involvement across various committees, including the Parks and Recreation Committee, where he championed the development and maintenance of public spaces, and the Civic Beautification Committee, where his efforts contributed to the enhancement of the community’s visual appeal.
He also played a crucial role on the Dog Pound Committee, advocating for animal welfare and improved facilities, and the Community Services Advisory Committee, where he worked on initiatives to better support local residents. Additionally, Byrne’s service on the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Committee demonstrated his commitment to environmental stewardship and sustainable practices.
His tenure was marked by a deep passion for public service, characterized by tenacity and pride. Councillor Byrne’s contributions have left a lasting impact on the community, reflecting his dedication to enhancing the quality of life for his constituents through proactive and heartfelt public service.
