According to the Mobile Police Department, a confrontation in the parking lot at Palmer’s Airport Hyundai off Airport Boulevard on Tuesday evening resulted in one man’s death and another’s injury due to a shooting.
The incident occurred around 6:40 p.m. in the 7600 block of Airport Boulevard. Mobile Police Chief Paul Prine stated that a known individual and an employee engaged in a confrontation, during which both men drew guns and exchanged gunfire.
Both individuals were transported to the hospital, where one man succumbed to his injuries.
The other individual is in guarded condition, as reported by Prine.
Prine mentioned that it remained uncertain if one of the individuals involved was a customer, and there were additional bystanders present during the shooting.
“This appears to be an isolated incident,” Prine remarked, emphasizing that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
He urged people to maintain composure during disputes and refrain from resorting to firearms.
Prine assured that investigators would provide further details in the following days.
