Oregon City Train Accident: 56-year-old Andres Jimenez died after being struck by Amtrak train in Canby

Oregon City Train Accident – 56-year-old Andres Jimenez, of Canby, was struck and killed by an Amtrak train on Thursday, according to investigators.

Authorities say the warehouse worker died after he was struck by an approaching train at the Pine Street railroad intersection in Canby.

Police say a man was killed in a rail accident involving a train on Thursday, 30 May 2024. Police said Jimenez was crossing the train tracks when he was fatally struck. The tragic incident happened at the Pine Street railroad intersection.

Oregon City Train Accident Investigations
The Amtrak spokesperson Kelly confirmed in a statement the tragic incident. Kelly said that the train 505 struck a person in Canby as it was traveling from Seattle to Eugene with 109 passengers when an individual who was “trespassing on the track came into contact with the train.” Kelly added that there were no injuries to any of the train’s passengers and that Amtrak is working with local law enforcement to investigate the accident.
