Novely Rivers and Abigail Olson Death – Following the brutal killings of two local adolescents, the little village of Hooper Bay has been left in a state of disbelief as a result of a sad event.
Shaquille Carawan, age 20, has been taken into custody by Alaska State Troopers and charged with multiple charges of murder in connection with the murders of Novely Rivers and Abigail Olson, both of whom were 18 years old.
Carawan was brought into jail on Saturday, and he is currently being charged with two counts of murder (one in the first degree and two in the second degree). Furthermore, he has been charged with tampering with evidence, misbehaviour using controlled substances, and providing alcohol to minors in a place where such actions are illegal.
These charges have been brought against him. After being taken into custody, he was promptly taken to the Yukon Kuskokwim Correctional Centre, which is located in Bethel.
On Wednesday, the bodies of Rivers and Olson were found inside a home in Hooper Bay, which prompted an immediate and comprehensive inquiry into the circumstances behind their deaths.
The seriousness of the situation and the community’s profound concern were reflected in the fact that dozens of law enforcement officers from all around the state engaged in the investigation into the homicide, as stated by the state troopers.
Families and friends are struggling to come to terms with the aftermath of this tragedy, as authorities continue to investigate the facts around the occurrence and put together what happened.
