Northtown Mall Shooting Investigation: Heavy police presence at Northtown Mall in Blaine, MN
Officers from several agencies have converged at Northtown Mall after multiple reports of gunshots being fired in the food court and outside of the mall by 4-5 male suspects with handguns.
There are no initial reports of injury, but officers are locking down the mall, checking for gunshot victims, and securing the area.
Police were clearing out people from the mall as of 3:28 p.m. and initial radio dispatches say at least two groups of suspects were exchanging gunfire inside and fled north through the mall, with others reportedly fleeing out of the western side of the mall near SkyZone.
A possible suspect vehicle is reportedly a grey regular-cab Chevy Silverado or Toyota pickup, unknown plate, last seen leaving the area of Cub southeast of the mall at a high rate of speed.
Shell casings and bullet fragments have been located by officers outside in the parking lot between the mall and SkyZone and outside door #3. Police are working to shut down the parking lot and hold the scene for evidence. There are still no confirmed reports of any gunshot injuries.
