Julian was stabbed in the cheek and back, according to the authorities. Police claimed that Wood, 38, survived with injuries that were not life-threatening.

According to authorities, the suspect, Bionca Ellis, 32, was brought into prison. Ellis and the victims were strangers, according to North Olmsted police Det. Sgt. Matt Beck described the incident as a “random act of violence” during a press conference on Tuesday.

After purchasing “some type of kitchen knife” from a nearby shop, Ellis made her way to the Giant Eagle, where she “spotted Mrs Wood and her son and then proceeded to follow them out to the parking lot,” according to Beck. Then, as Julian was sitting in the shopping cart, Beck claimed that Ellis attacked the mother and boy next to their car. According to Beck, Ellis was accused of aggravated murder. Beck stated that more charges would be brought.
