Nicole Mertens Southlake, TX: Nicole Mertens, an art teacher at Old Union and a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away. The mother of two died after an incident over the weekend.
Prayers have been asked for the Mertens family. Nicole Mertens was not just a talented and inspiring teacher, but also a kind mother, and devoted wife. Nicole and her husband Mark are Southlake residents and parents to two Dragon students.
Nicole was a pillar of our community, having spent 21 years teaching in CISD. Her enthusiasm for education and unshakable dedication to her students left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She had a special gift for inspiring and nurturing young people, leaving an indelible mark on many lives.”
