According to Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, spokesperson for the Mpumalanga police, an undetermined number of victims sustained injuries in the incident and were rushed to hospitals for medical attention. “More details surrounding this incident will be provided in due course. Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security, and Liaison MEC Jackie Macie condemned the attack and called for swift justice. “Our officers are on the ground and have started with their investigations. One lost life is too many. This is a shocking incident,” Macie said.
He urged community members to cooperate with law enforcement, emphasizing the importance of witness accounts in tracking down the shooters. “We are pleading with anyone who has information about the whereabouts of the shooters to come forward. We also urge the shooters to surrender themselves to the police,” he added.
