Miguel Mozo-Hernandez Death: Teen charged with fatally stabbing his brother in Encinitas

Miguel Mozo-Hernandez Death – According to the San Diego County Sheriff’s Department around 10:11 p.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Sprucewood Drive in Encinitas, A 17-year-old is accused of fatally stabbing his 19-year-old brother.

It has been stated that the brothers were engaged in a fight in the front yard of the house at the time when the stabbing took place.

Deputies found the victim, later identified as Miguel Mozo-Hernandez of Encinitas, with a stab wound to his abdomen, Lt. Michael Krugh said. He was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

An autopsy was completed Monday. Krugh said to reporters, “The preliminary cause of death is a stab wound to the abdomen and the manner of death is homicide,” According to Krugh, the sibling of the victim was discovered approximately half a mile distant.

Juvenile Hall was the location where the adolescent was taken into custody after being apprehended on suspicion of homicide. “At this stage of the investigation, the motivation and circumstances of the crime are still under investigation,” Krugh explained to reporters. “There are no outstanding suspects and no apparent danger to the community.”
