Michelle Peduto Pennsylvania Death – Catholic Diocese of Pittsburgh School Superintendent Michelle Peduto has died.

At the time of her passing on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, she had been battling cancer with great bravery. She passed away in her house in Sewickley, surrounded by her family.

Following nearly five years of service in the position of Superintendent of Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Pittsburgh, Michelle Peduto will step down from her position in June 2024. She has served with dedication and commitment throughout her tenure in the position.

During her 21-year career in Catholic education in Pittsburgh, where she has held a variety of posts and left an indelible stamp on the educational landscape of the diocese, her departure signals the conclusion of a memorable chapter in her career.

Peduto has been a source of motivation for the whole duration of her service as Superintendent, helping the diocesan school system through a number of critical challenges and adjustments.

It is also noteworthy that she demonstrated exceptional leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic. She deftly managed the tremendous challenges that schools were confronted with, ensuring that education continued uninterrupted and that both children and staff were safe.
