Michael Holt Hartsville SC Death:- Michael S. Holt, a judge for the Fourth Judicial Circuit in South Carolina has passed away.

He was announced dead through social media publications. Michael Holt of Hartsville South Carolina died unexpectedly, according to reports. There was no cause of death reported.

The South Carolina General Assembly elected Holt to the court on February 3, 2021. Holt had previously served as a family court judge for the Fourth Judicial Circuit in South Carolina.

He was elected to the family court by the South Carolina General Assembly in May 2008 and served in that capacity until his election to the circuit court in February 2021.

Holt’s educational background includes an undergraduate degree in history from the University of South Carolina, which he earned in 1992, and a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from the University of South Carolina School of Law, obtained in 1996.

Before embarking on his judicial career, Holt practiced law with the late Senator Ed Saleeby’s law firm in Hartsville, South Carolina, where he gained valuable legal experience. Additionally, Holt has a history of public service in Hartsville, where he served as the mayor from 2005 to 2009.

His tenure as mayor provided him with a unique perspective on community issues and governance, complementing his legal expertise. This blend of legal practice, judicial experience, and municipal leadership has significantly contributed to Holt’s qualifications and effectiveness as a judge in the South Carolina judicial system.
