Michael Boone Altoona PA Accident – President of Lytle’s Transfer and Storage, Michael James Boone, 59, Tyrone, passed away in a lawn tractor rollover crash in Tyrone Township on Saturday, June 1, 2024.

He was announced dead in a social media post that read “Michael Boone, an accomplished horseman, gifted trainer, and friend to so many in the barrel racing world passed away on Saturday, June 1, 2024. An icon in the industry, a visionary, breeder of the year and so much more. He had the poise of a statesman and an undeniable talent for understanding horses and how they think and perform.”

What was Michael Boone’s cause of death?
In Tyrone Township on Saturday, a lawnmower accident claimed the life of a 59-year-old man. For a death investigation, the Blair County Coroner’s Office was called to a residence in the 100 block of Kephart Farm Lane.

Deputy Coroner Terry Dellinger arrived at the site and concluded that Michael J. Boone died from asphyxiation caused by being pinned under the lawn tractor after it overturned an embankment. The accident happened at 12:36 p.m., according to the report.

Who was Michael Boone?
Michael James Boone was born July 1, 1964, in Altoona, Pennsylvania son of James and Barbara (Fontanella) Boone. He was loved and cherished by his fiancé, Kassie Mowry, his son, Evan Boone, and his brothers Dan Boone, Brian Boone, and John Boone.

Mike was President of Lytle’s Transfer and Storage, which has been family-owned and run for over 50 years. He was one of Atlas Van Lines’ top sales producers for global relocation. Clients and peers alike recognized him as straightforward, authentic, and eager to assist anyone in need.

In addition, he was well-known as a highly distinguished owner and trainer in the barrel racing scene. Kassie, who also rode many of the horses he trained and won numerous national rodeos and futurities, shared his passion for horses.

Mike was also a boxing enthusiast, therefore he was long associated with the Altoona Boxing Club. He began judging competitions recently after spending many years training boxers. He enjoyed travelling with his son Evan, with whom he took tremendous pride.

Michael Boone obituary and funeral arrangements
Friends will be received from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, June 7, 2024 at Mauk & Yates Funeral Home, Inc., 719 N 4th Avenue, Altoona, 16601 where a funeral service will be held at 10 am on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations may be made in Michael’s honor to the Mayo Clinic where he recently received successful treatment for prostate cancer.
