Matthew Riley Death: A junior student at West Mifflin Area School District in West Mifflin, PA has tragically passed away.

Matthew Riley died unexpectedly following a battle with depression and mental anxiety. The beloved West Mifflin Baseball player was found dead from an apparent suicide.

The Pittsburg, PA residents have asked the public to send prayers to Matt’s family, friends, schoolmates, and everyone who knew him. “Please keep Tim & Kim, all of our children who held Matt as a dear friend, and the entire West Mifflin Community in your thoughts and prayers as we as a whole navigate this tremendous loss.

A GoFundMe Account has been created by the family to help raise funds for Matthew’s funeral. “Our dear friends, Tim and Kim Riley, are suffering the unimaginable loss of their son, Matthew. Matthew had just begun his junior year in the West Mifflin Area School District, where he was a loved member of both the baseball and golf teams. To know Matthew was to know his infectious smile, huge heart, and constant desire to make everyone laugh. The hurt his family, friends, and community are feeling cannot be put into words. Matthew was loved so much by so many.”

West Mifflin Youth Baseball and Softball sent a condolence message to the family and community affected by Matt’s early departure; “West Mifflin Youth Baseball and Softball sends our deepest sympathy & condolences to family, friends, coaches, and teammates.”

West Mifflin Area School District and West Mifflin Area High School communities are mourning the sudden devastating incident. Encourage anyone battling depression to call 911 or 988.
