Mark Shepherd Obituary, Diane Shepherd Death – The man allegedly turned the gun on himself before shooting and killing his wife early on Wednesday morning in the residence that the couple shared in Lancaster County, according to the police.
According to the authorities, Mark E. Shepherd, 71, and Diane L. Shepherd, 63, were going through an argument before to the murder-suicide that took place at approximately 4:10 a.m. in the residence of the couple located on the 300 block of West Sun Hill Road in Penn Township.
Other members of the family were also present inside the residence at the time of the shooting, according to the Northern Lancaster County Regional Police. Families reported to the authorities that they awoke to the sound of a loud quarrel, followed by the sound of many gunshots.
Diane was struck by numerous rounds fired from a revolver handgun by Mark, who then proceeded to take his own life with the same weapon, according to the official statement of the police.
Despite the efforts of the attending cops to give medical treatment, the Shepherds ultimately succumbed to their gunshot wounds, according to the police. Diane Shepherd was a native of Lebanon, Pennsylvania and an alumna of Cedar Crest High School.
She was a ward secretary at Cedar Haven Healthcare Center, according to her social media profile. Mark Shepherd was a native of Ephrata, Pennsylvania and an alumnus of Ephrata Senior High School. He studied Business studies at Thompson Institute, according to his social media profile. The couple are residents of Manheim, Pennsylvania.
