Luke Welch Urbandale IA Death, Beloved son and brother from Urbandale, Iowa died at age 26

Luke Welch Urbandale IA Death – Luke Welch, a graduate of Woodward Granger Schools who resided in Urbandale, Iowa has sadly passed away.

His death occurred on Monday, August 12, 2024, when he was 26 years old, leaving those who knew him in a state of profound grief.

Luke was born on May 26, 1998 in Petrozavodsk, Russia. At the age of eight, Luke took part in Camp Hope 2006, a program that was created to give older children who are eligible for adoption the opportunity to experience life in the United States or another country. This summer camp, which lasted for a week and was hosted by Dick and Sharon Jones, ended up being a defining experience for Luke.

While he was there, he had the opportunity to meet Jennifer and Eric, both of whom immediately recognized his contagious energy and vivid personality, which created an impact that will not soon be forgotten.

Clearly, Luke was meant to become a treasured member of their family. This was something that was obvious. Luke’s jet landed on American soil on December 2, 2006, which marked the beginning of a new chapter in his life. Luke’s life began with this momentous occasion.

Luke’s zeal and love for life were visible at the Woodward-Granger schools, where he received his education while attending. Due to the fact that he was an active participant in sports, he was able to successfully manage his academic commitments with his athletic ambitions, which helped him graduate in 2017.

Luke decided to seek a profession in the tool and die industry after graduating from high school. He enrolled in the program at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) to acquire the necessary skills. Because Accumold in Ankeny provided him with financial support, he was able to devote seven years to his career as a machinist and improve his talents.

Left to honor his memory are his parents, Eric and Jennifer Welch and his sister, Jozy (Ben) Murry; grandparents Carroll and Eileen McLuckie; grandmother, Colleen Welch; nephew, Joshua Murry; uncle Jason (Kay) Welch; uncle Greg (Cheryl) McLuckie; (Tammy) McLuckie; cousins Derrick, Alex (Olivia), Ashley (Michael) Meyer, Zoe, Shawn, and Tally. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gary Welch.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, August 15th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 8301 NW Aurora Ave, in Urbandale. Services will be held on Friday, August 16th, at Gloria Dei at 11:00 a.m. Preceding the service there will be a short visitation starting at 10:00 a.m.
