Paris was known for her cheerful presence, sarcastic humour, and rigorous work ethic. She was admired for her talent, adventurous spirit, and warmth, drawing people in with her magnetic personality.
“She was an excellent broadcaster. She loved radio. She knew what made good radio and she liked to be part of creating that, that was her skill and her passion,” Rose Kingdon said Sunday in a phone interview. Kingdon said Paris was meticulous in her work and her high standards meant she was often responsible for training new staff.
Who was Lori Paris?
Lori resided in Toronto, Ontario, and graduated from South Carleton High School. She pursued journalism at Humber College and also attended Carleton University.
Lori’s career included roles as a journalist at Astral Radio and NEWSTALK 1010 CFRB. She also worked in media relations and communications at Futurpreneur, was a news anchor at 580 CFRA, a news reporter at CityNews Ottawa, and a news reporter and anchor at CHEZ 106.
Paris was an intrepid traveller and passionate cook, often bringing home new culinary skills from her travels. Her love for animals was evident, and she left behind two cats and a dog. Joining The Canadian Press in 2013, she quickly distinguished herself and was promoted to assistant audio editor shortly before her death.
