London Attack – A London man is charged in a stabbing attack on an elderly woman who was walking her dog in the city’s east end.
A 78-year-old woman was walking her dog Monday around 6:30 a.m. on Brydges Street, west of Highbury Avenue, where an unknown man approached her, pushed her to the ground and stabbed her several times, London police said Tuesday.
The suspect fled and the woman returned to her home, where a family member called 911, police said. The woman was taken to hospital for injuries not considered life-threatening. “The two were not known to each other,” police spokesperson Sgt. Sandasha Bough said of the woman and her attacker.
Officers searched the area but didn’t initially find the suspect. He was later arrested at 11 a.m. at his home in east London, Bough said. “Information was provided to us that led us to the individual,” she said.
Cristepher Young-Hough, 32, of London is charged with aggravated assault, failing to comply with a release order and breaching probation. He was remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Friday.
