Lakemoor Shooting Today: One Hurt, Active Investigation of Shooting Along Route 120 in Lakemoor

Lakemoor Shooting Today – Lakemoor authorities are actively investigating a shooting that took place along Route 120 on Sunday afternoon, leaving one victim in critical condition.

A 911 caller reported that a person was down in the roadway on Route 120, also known as Rand Road within the Village of Lakemoor.

According to reports, the Lakemoor Police Department, McHenry County Sheriff’s Office, and Wauconda Fire District responded to the call at approximately 1:24 p.m. of the shooting near the intersection of Route 120 and Darrell Road.

Upon arrival, officers discovered an individual suffering from gunshot wounds in the 100 block of Rand Road, west of the intersection. Emergency radio communications indicated that the victim was unconscious and not breathing at the scene.

Paramedics transported the victim, an adult, to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry. Fire officials confirmed the victim’s critical condition and stated that no other injuries had been reported at the scene.

Following the shooting, officers were seen actively searching for a suspect believed to have fled the area. The incident occurred in the westbound lanes of Route 120, directly in front of a residential property.

At the crime scene, authorities found a sedan positioned partially sideways in the roadway and a motorcycle lying on its side in the residence’s driveway. A motorcycle helmet was also spotted in the turn lane on Route 120 next to the sedan.

Due to the ongoing investigation, Route 120 was temporarily shut down in both directions on Sunday afternoon as authorities worked to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.

At this time, it remains unclear if any suspects have been taken into custody or what may have led to the violent incident.

The Lakemoor Police Department has yet to release further information regarding the case, and the investigation remains ongoing.
