La Vergne Double Homicide: Ramon Delgado Jr and Aaron Smith killed after shooting at an apartment complex in La Vergne

La Vergne Double Homicide – The La Vergne Police Department has released the identities of the victims and suspects involved in a double homicide that occurred on May 28, 2024.

The victims are Ramon Delgado, Jr., 23, and Aaron Smith, 39. Both individuals were tragically killed in the shootings. A third victim, a 45-year-old female, is being treated for a minor gunshot injury sustained during the incident.

Authorities have charged two adults and two 17-year-olds in connection with the incident. The first juvenile faces charges of first-degree murder, aggravated assault, tampering with evidence, and making a false report.

The second juvenile has been charged with tampering with evidence and making a false report. Ramon Delgado Sr., 46, has also been charged with making a false report. Additionally, a fourth adult, age 25, faces charges for making a false report but has not yet been arrested.

The incident took place at an apartment complex located at 5400 Murfreesboro Road around 5:45 p.m. A dispute involving several people escalated into a physical altercation, which ultimately led to the shootings. Ramon Delgado, Jr. was found dead at the scene, while Aaron Smith was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The La Vergne Police Department has stated that the shooting appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to the public. The investigation remains open and ongoing as authorities continue to gather information and piece together the events that led to the fatal shootings.
