Kulsuma Akter Obituary – Kulsuma, a 27-year-old woman, was fatally stabbed in the Westgate district of Bradford on Saturday while walking with her five-month-old infant.
Habibur Masum, residing at Leamington Avenue, Burnley, made an appearance at Bradford Magistrates’ Court on Thursday about charges of murder and possession of a bladed article. The individual, aged 25, donned a grey hoodie with long sleeves and communicated solely to verify his name, date of birth, and residence.
During his brief, five-minute court appearance, Mr. Masum was informed that his next appearance would take place in Bradford Crown Court on Friday. District Judge Alex Boyd informed the individual that they were being accused of the crime of murder, which can only be addressed in the crown court.
The case has been forwarded to Bradford Crown Court for the initial hearing, scheduled for tomorrow. From now until that date, you will be held in detention. “That concludes your case for today, you are free to leave with the officers.”
An individual has been brought before a court and accused of committing the act of homicide against Kulsuma Akter, a recent mother when she was strolling down the street with her infant son in a carriage.

Mr. Masum is facing charges of both homicide and possession of a bladed weapon, as shown in court. He was formally accused on Wednesday. The possession offense was reported to have occurred concurrently with the alleged homicide.
Mr. Masum gazed fixedly at the District Judge during the brief five-minute session. Kulsuma, a 27-year-old resident of Oldham, succumbed to fatal injuries on Saturday as a result of being stabbed in broad daylight in Bradford on April 6th. At that moment, she was propelling her infant son in a stroller. The infant remained unscathed.
Mr. Masum was detained and informed that his next court appearance will be at Bradford Crown Court on Friday, April 12th. District Judge Alex Boyd has informed the individual that they are being accused with the crime of murder.
This particular offense can only be addressed in the crown court, and as a result, the case will be transferred to Bradford Crown Court for the initial hearing, scheduled for tomorrow. From now until that date, you will be held in detention.
“That concludes your case for today, you are free to leave with the officers.” Authorities have reported that four further individuals were apprehended in Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, under suspicion of aiding a criminal and engaging in drug-related activities. The individuals in question are currently 23, 26, 28, and 29 years old, and they are all currently being held in police custody as of the time of writing.
