Khyree Jackson Minnesota Vikings Car Accident – Minnesota Vikings rookie Khyree Jackson, a former cornerback for Oregon and Alabama, tragically passed away in an auto accident in Maryland.
His agent and high school coach confirmed his death, as did the Vikings. He was 24 years old.
The accident also resulted in the deaths of his high school teammates AJ Lytton, who played at Penn State and Florida State, and Isaiah Hazel, who played for Maryland and Charlotte. The trio had won state championships at Dr. Henry A. Wise Jr. High School (MD) in 2016.
The Forestville Barrack troopers responded to the crash early on July 6th in Upper Marlboro, Maryland where Jackson and Hazel were pronounced dead on-site while Lytton was transported to a hospital where he also passed away.
Jackson had recently been drafted by the Vikings with the No.108 overall pick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft after spending one season with Oregon following two seasons under Nick Saban at Alabama.
During his tenure with Oregon’s Ducks where he tallied impressive statistics including 34 tackles (25 solo), five tackles for loss, three interceptions, seven passes defended and two sacks earned him First-Team All-Pac-12 honors before heading to the NFL Draft.
Prior to this stage of his career path playing college football games against Georgia during a College Football Playoff National Championship Game helped cement Jackson’s potential as an NFL prospect according to Lance Zierlein from NFL Network who described him as a strong outside cornerback with rare physicality that marked him out from other players’ style on field.
The journey it took for you to get to where you was at and you really accomplished your goals of making it to the NFL, you really looked out for me. A true brother and all you wanted to do was see me succeed and vice versa always love slim❤️
