Kenderick Schunke Death – A tragic motorcycle accident in Wood County claimed the life of 42-year-old Kenderick Schunke on Sunday, September 15, 2024.
According to a press release from the Wood County Sheriff’s Office, the accident occurred around 3:52 p.m. on Highway D near Moore Road in the Township of Cranmoor.
Kenderick Schunke, the operator of the motorcycle, lost control while negotiating a curve as he traveled northbound on Highway D. Unfortunately, Schunke was pronounced dead at the scene.
His passenger, identified as Nicole Schunke, sustained serious injuries in the crash and was airlifted by Life Link to Marshfield Medical Center for medical treatment. Her condition has not yet been updated.
Authorities have confirmed that no other vehicles were involved in the incident. The exact cause of the crash remains under investigation, as officers continue to assess the factors that led to the tragic event.
Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including the Nekoosa Police Department, Wisconsin Rapids Police Department, Port Edwards Fire Department, Vesper Fire Department, Wisconsin Rapids Ambulance, and the Wood County Coroner’s Office. Nieman’s Tow Service was also called to assist in clearing the wreckage.
