Keegan Peterson Louisville KY Death – Keegan Peterson of Louisville, Kentucky has sadly passed away. He died after a tragic jet ski accident at Nolin Lake on Ruesday 23rd July 2024.

He was confirmed dead through a post that reads “My beautiful, amazing, loving son is now resting in peace. He has been taken from us far too early. I feel empty inside. Please keep my Family in your thoughts and prayers.”

Born on September 29, 2011, Keegan Peterson brought immense joy, light, and laughter into the lives of everyone fortunate enough to know him. He is the beloved son of Heather (Hijioka) Yelton and Chris Peterson, and the cherished stepson of Aaron Yelton and Sequoia Peterson.

From the moment he was born, Keegan shared an unbreakable bond with his big sister, Kaiya, serving as her partner in crime and creative collaborator. Together, they produced, acted in, and edited countless videos, most of which ended in fits of laughter and sibling camaraderie.

Over the last seven years, Keegan was blessed with new siblings and friends—Townes, Clarke, Owen, Whitt, and Elise—each of whom became an integral part of his lively world. His infectious spirit drew everyone into his antics, from wild dances and hilarious pranks to his unmistakable belly laugh. Keegan’s playful nature and vibrant presence made every gathering brighter and more joyful.

Keegan’s passion for soccer was evident to all who watched him play. His zest and tenacity on the field showcased not only his skills but also his deep love for the game. A devoted fan of Lou City FC, his sister’s Ballard Bruins, and his own team, Valor, Keegan was rarely seen without a soccer jersey and a ball at his feet.

He was always ready for a game, eager to play anytime, anywhere, with anyone. Keegan and Kaiya had grand plans to climb the soccer ranks together, with Kaiya especially keen on coaching and training her little brother all the way to Major League Soccer (MLS).

Beyond soccer, Keegan shared a special bond with his dad and grandpa over their mutual love for the Minnesota Vikings. The trio, the most loyal Vikings fans in all of Kentucky, never missed a Sunday game, their shared enthusiasm for football creating lasting memories and strengthening family ties.

Left to cherish Keegan’s memory are his parents, Heather and Aaron Yelton and Chris and Sequoia Peterson; sister, Kaiya Peterson; step-siblings, Townes, Clarke, and Whitt Lanham and Owen and Elise Yelton; grandparents, Mike and Pat Peterson and Yusaku and Sherry Hijioka; aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless loved ones and friends from school.

All are welcome to join Keegan’s family to celebrate his life on Saturday, July 27th at Southeast Christian Church Prospect Campus – 12650 W Highway 42 Prospect, KY 40059. Visitation from 2:00-4:00 p.m. and Celebration of Life from 4:00-5:00 p.m.
