Officers responded to the home Monday just before 11:30 a.m. after the child’s mother found him unresponsive in the pool, police said. Officers and medics were unable to revive the boy with CPR and the child was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The child’s mother and brother had been home and unaware the child had gone into the backyard near the pool, police said.
