Julie Schroeder Accident, Delores Long Death – Two ladies were killed in an automobile accident that occurred in Madison County on Sunday afternoon, which resulted in the temporary closure of the roadway.
On Sunday, just before one o’clock in the afternoon, a two-car collision took place on Illinois Route 159, which is located south of Illinois Route 140 in Madison County, according to Illinois State Police Troop 8.
What happened to Julie Schroeder and Delores Long?
A press release issued by the Madison County Coroner’s Office described the incident as follows: a motorist in a Nissan Sentra drove into the path of a Dodge Caravan, causing the automobile to collide with the Nissan Sentra head-on.
At the scene, it was determined that the driver had passed away. On Monday, she was recognized as Delores Long, a resident of St. Louis who was 91 years old. A second person who was injured in the collision was sent to a nearby hospital, where she was subsequently pronounced dead.
Her name was revealed to be Julie Schroeder, and she was 63 years old. She was from Bloomingdale, Illinois. The Crash Reconstruction Unit of the Illinois State Police and the office of the coroner are conducting an investigation to determine the cause of the collision.
At 1:07 p.m., all lanes were closed, and it is anticipated that they would stay closed until 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, as stated by the Illinois Department of Transportation. Drivers were strongly encouraged to steer clear of the area and look for alternate routes. The road has been made available once more. This is an investigation that is still underway.
Accident along Interstate 26 on March 11
On March 11, a vehicle that was traveling along Interstate 26 sustained a loss of control and crashed into an embankment, resulting in the death of one individual.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol reported that at approximately 4:30 p.m., a Ford Focus was heading east on Interstate 26 at a high rate of speed, weaving in and out of traffic, when the driver lost control of the vehicle near mile marker 11.5.
The Focus reportedly went off the right side of the roadway, collided with the embankment, and then flipped multiple times before coming to a halt on the right side of the road, according to the authoritative sources.
Troopers have reported that Jared Alan Wilson, who was a passenger in the front seat of the Focus and was 28 years old, was ejected after the collision and was subsequently pronounced deceased at the site.
Four people, including the driver and a passenger in the back seat, were transported to Mission Hospital in critical but stable condition. According to the Highway Patrol, the investigation into the collision is still ongoing.
In addition, it was stated that the department is currently in communication with the office of the district attorney, and that charges against the driver are currently being considered.
