Jubal Simmons & Ivybella Encino Crime — Two individuals are in custody following a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday at the intersection of Highway 231 and Harrison Avenue, leaving one person dead and another critically injured.
Authorities identified the suspects as Jubal John Simmons, a resident of Belvidere, North Carolina, and his girlfriend, Ivybella Encino, from Paisley, Florida.
According to a news release, the pair allegedly opened fire on another vehicle before attempting to flee the scene. They were later apprehended by law enforcement. The victim succumbed to their injuries at the hospital, while the second victim remains in critical condition.
Simmons, who is believed to have been the shooter, faces nine charges, including first-degree murder, shooting into a vehicle, destroying physical evidence, and resisting an officer without violence. Encino faces four charges, including accessory after the fact, fleeing and eluding police, and aggravated battery on a first responder.
