Dr. McNary was a general psychiatrist who was board-certified and provided care to a wide variety of patients in her outpatient practice. She is particularly interested in the use of complementary medicine to treat mood and anxiety disorders and has a particular emphasis on medication management.
Dr. McNary received her BA and MA degrees from Stanford University and her MD from Tulane University. She subsequently concluded her psychiatry residency at the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, where she received comprehensive training in cognitive behavioral therapy, couples and family therapy, mood and anxiety disorders, and women’s mental health.
Dr. McNary pursued specialized fellowship training in psycho-oncology and mood disorders with a profound commitment to the advancement of her medical practice.
She was the staff psychiatrist at the UCLA Simms-Mann Center for Integrative Oncology from 2011 to 2015 and completed a fellowship at the UCLA Mood Disorders Clinic, where she concentrated on treatment-resistant mood disorders.
CalPsychiatry, a psychiatry practice with over fifteen psychiatrists in multiple locations throughout California, was established by Dr. McNary. Additionally, she served as the anchor of the podcast MindStories, which investigates various mental health treatment alternatives.
