McReynolds, 46, of the Park at Beasley apartments, is accused of six counts in connection with the collision that happened on Beasley Drive close to the Cowan Road intersection, according to Detective Michael Carter of the Dickson Police Department.

What was Joseph Simms II cause of death?
Carter stated that more charges may be pursued and that the incident is still being investigated. Following his arrest on Sunday, May 12, McReynolds was being held without bond in the Dickson County Jail until his hearing in Dickson County General Sessions Court. The arrest stemmed from an unrelated probation violation allegation.
Carter obtained and served warrants on Tuesday, accusing McReynolds of aggravated vehicular homicide, failing to report an accident right away, causing an accident that resulted in damage to a vehicle, driving while under the influence of alcohol, driving without a license, and operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device. The detective stated that McReynolds’s prior DUI conviction resulted in his license being revoked, and the court mandated that he use an ignition interlock device in order to be granted a driver’s license.

Carter stated that the department is still looking for information from the public and that a tip from the public helped with the accident investigation. He requests that anyone who may have seen a man between 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 11, and 8:00 a.m. on Sunday, May 12, walking on Beasley Drive or lying on the south side of the street close to the intersection with Cowan Road, call the department at 615-441-9527 or use the department’s tipline at 615-441-9555.
At 6:40 a.m. on Sunday, police were called to a welfare check where they found Simms dead. The man had been found laying close to the road. It is thought that he was struck and murdered sometime on Saturday night while he was strolling along the road. According to Carter, the car that is thought to have hit Simms has been located and is now being examined by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation’s Forensic Services Division.
