Authorities reported that 19-year-old Joseph Nicholas was involved in a fatal crash while riding his motorcycle on Wednesday afternoon. The accident occurred on Heights Boulevard, near the Costco store, at approximately 3:30 p.m.
Police say that Nicholas lost control of his motorcycle before colliding with another vehicle. Emergency responders with Florence EMS arrived at the scene shortly after the crash but were unable to save him. Nicholas was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Florence Police Accident Reconstruction Team has taken over the investigation and is working to determine the exact cause of the accident.
