Jian Liu Ottawa: Obituary – Family killed in mass shooting at Berrigan Drive near Palmadeo Drive identified, Landlord-tenant dispute
A total of six individuals, consisting of four minors and two adults, tragically lost their lives in what the police chief of Ottawa has described as a mass shooting incident that occurred within a townhouse located in the suburban area of Barrhaven, during the late hours of Wednesday night.
Reports to emergency services began at approximately 10:50 p.m., guiding initial responders to Berrigan Drive near Palmadeo Drive. The location is a residential area near two educational institutions.
Upon entering the premises, emergency personnel discovered six deceased individuals and one individual who had sustained injuries, subsequently being transported to a medical facility. The deceased individuals have been identified as Jian Liu, Mig Liu, and their four children.
An unidentified male was apprehended at the location, some 15 kilometers south of downtown Ottawa, by the police. The authorities have stated that there is currently no existing threat to the safety of the general population.
According to him, investigators have ruled out the possibility of it being a case of intimate partner violence. “This file is a tragic one that will have a significant impact on the city of Ottawa, not to mention the immediate neighborhood in Barrhaven,” Stubbs emphasized the importance of seeking assistance to effectively cope with this distressing incident.
