Jeanette Benthall Largo, MD Death – The Prince George’s County Police Department’s crash Analysis and Reconstruction Unit is conducting an investigation into a terrible crash in the Largo region.
The crash involved a PGPD patrol officer on duty, as well as 85-year-old Largo resident Jeanette Benthall, who tragically died a few days later from her injuries.
At 11:20 a.m. on September 9, 2024, a collision occurred near the intersection of Joyceton Drive and Campus Way South. Both the officer and Ms. Benthall were immediately sent to a local hospital for medical treatment. Sadly, Ms. Benthall died from her wounds on September 14, 2024. Since then, the officer involved in the collision has been released from the hospital.
Investigators are hard at work collating all of the material that is now available, as officials continue to investigate what caused the tragic accident. This includes reviewing any available camera footage from the incident and speaking with more witnesses who may know more about what happened before the disaster.
