Janey Thompson Obituary – Wake Forest sophomore Janey Thompson of Charlotte, North Carolina has sadly passed away. She died on Tuesday 9th April 2024 after after suffering complications from a blood clot.

She was announced dead through an email released by the school that reads “We extend our deepest condolences to Janey’s family and fellow students, as well as faculty and staff who knew Janey,”“She was a biophysics major and a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority. She played club basketball and was a Deacon sports fan.”

Graduating in 2022, she embarked on her higher education journey at Wake Forest University, equipped with a drive to make a difference in the world of dentistry. During her time at Myers Park High School, Janey demonstrated a commitment to giving back to her community through volunteering efforts.

This dedication continued as she transitioned to university life, where she sought opportunities to expand her skills and contribute meaningfully to society. One such opportunity arose when she became a Student Volunteer at Footbridge Inc.

At Footbridge Inc., Janey served as a student assistant to a dentist at a Footbridge clinic located in Winston Salem. This role allowed her to merge her passion for dentistry with her desire to help those in need.

By providing free dental care to local veterans, Janey played a crucial role in addressing the healthcare needs of underserved populations in her community.
